Samuel Adams Longshot Five Crown Imperial Stout

This was by far our favorite Longshot winner this year.  This is the one that will make me try the Longshots in the future.  It poured like oil and was so very dark.  There was no hope of seeing through this beer in the glass. It probably would have stained anything it touched if it was spilled.  The head looked like chocolate ice cream or something.  That being said, this was a surprising beer.  It was a great imperial stout and I would drink this on a regular basis if available.  I expected it to be overpowering and kick you in the face, but it was reasonable.  The husband even calls it "almost mild."  Good job Joe Formanek!
