Oskar Blues Ten Fidy

This beer is like black gold.  I love it and can't get enough.  YUMMMMMM.

Dogfish Head Ta Henket

So this is what the pyramids were built for. This is an interesting beer for sure. The chamomile is definitely a taste coming out.

Husband says it tastes like honey and hay. Once he said that, I could taste it too.

Ridgeway Pickled Santa

Terrible beer. Christmas would be ruined by this beer.

For some reason, this one isn't on Rate Beer.

Lost Coast 8 Ball Stout

I think I've become a bit spoiled with this beer.  I can get it pretty much everywhere.  It's a drinkable stout and it's a standby of mine when picking up beers locally.

Great Divide Claymore Scotch Ale

I love scotch ales. This one is lighter to drink than most, but still has a nice flavor.

Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale

For a barely wine, this was pretty good.  I drank it, but wasn't as much a fan as the husband was.

Firestone Walker Wookey Jack Black Rye IPA

Deeelicious. For a BIPA this was pretty great. I liked it a lot. It was a little drunk when drinking, but it was yummy.

Sound Brewery Monk's Indiscretion

This beer is delicious.  I think this is the first time I've had it bottled, but I've had it in growlers straight from the brewery a number of times.  Nothing beats a fresh growler, but overall this beer is amazing.

Alchemist/Ninkasi/Stone More Brown Than Black IPA

Not a fav beer over all. One of the better bipas though.

This was not one of our favorite beers of all time.  However, this may have been the first black IPA that we didn't contemplate immediately pouring out.  I feel like that's a big endorsement for not liking this style at all.

Great Divide 18th Anniversary Wood Aged IPA

I love Great Divide.  They are in my top 5 favorite breweries.  But this beer was really disappointing from them.  Being advertised as a wood aged double IPA, I would have expected a lot of wood and hops.  The hops were average and the wood flavoring was missing for the most part.  For an anniversary ale from a great brewery, I'm disappointed.

Great Divide Colette

This beer was quite yellow.  More bright and yellowish than most beers.  It was surprisingly tasty for the style.  It was another fabulous beer from Great Divide in my opinion.

The husband disagreed with me and thought it wasn't bad, but it was boring.

Wingman P-51 Porter

This porter was much better than the IPA by Wingman.  It was a decent porter, but nothing super remarkable.

Wingman Ace IPA

There was a slightly weird taste to this beer.  It is local, which I like, and in a can, which is awesome.  I couldn't quite place the flavor but it definitely wasn't my favorite IPA lately.

Darker than expected.

Three Skulls Blood Orange Wit

This was suprisingly ok.  I wasn't a fan of the scent of the beer, but enjoyed the taste.  The flavors were blended well and the blood orange wasn't overpowering at all.

Hair of the Dog Blue Dot IPA

Usually quite good, but it didn't seem to age as well.  The hops were definitely gone after some aging (which was due to deployment instead of trying).

Samuel Adams Imperial White

So this is 10.3% ABV beer and an imperial white. It doesn't taste at all like a white though. The husband thinks it tastes nearly like a barley wine. Probably why I don't like it very much at all.

It has a bit of a bite at the end of drinks and I didn't really enjoy how it drank.  Not my style, but the husband thought it was ok.

Samuel Adams Whitewater IPA

Apricot taste. Not a fan of the fruit or the flavor in my beer. Not very hoppy. More fruit beer than anything.

There was a definite apricot taste in this beer.  I am not a flavor of the fruit or the taste being in my beer.  It wasn't hoppy at all for an IPA, I think it was more of a fruit beer than anything else.

Fort George Roses on Roses XVIth Chapel

The roses were quite favorable.  It was a really nice change from the typical flavors you find in beers.  It was a great beer all around and I would totally drink it again, just not regularly as the roses would be overpowering on a regular basis.

Uinta Hop Notch

This beer was hoppy.  It was good.  It was yummy.  Woot!  I think I've been pretty impressed with the beers from this brewery, but rarely think to stop and pick up their brews.

Puyallup River Point Success Porter

Puyallup River Electron IPA

This beer is local.  It was ok, but not super hoppy.  I feel like this beer and brewery may improve as they have been around longer.  The brewery could use a bit of refining in their recipes, but I look forward to trying it again.

Churchkey Pilsner Style

There wasn't enough lip on this can to use this style of church key to open the beer.  It was really frustrating.

We resulted in using a can opener to get this open.

Then we poured it out, looked at it, enjoyed the fact we had a great time opening the can, took two sips, and then poured the beer down the drain.

Yes, you read that right, we poured the beer down the drain.  It's not something we really ever do, but it's something that we had to do this night.  I would suggest this as a novelty and nothing more.

Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier

Photo gone missing ::(

I liked it for a Hefeweizen.  We picked it up since a guy in a BC bottle shop said ti was the world's oldest brewery and we had to try it.  It was a bit bland compared to beers now, but it was good for what it was.

Samuel Adams & Weihenstephaner Infinium

What better way to celebrate quitting a job (knowing nothing but unemployment is waiting and planning a cross country move) than drinking a champagne beer?

This infinium is much better than 2010 was. It's quite bubbly but not overly so. It's fruity and slightly sour but not unpleasant. Really I don't like champagne so this is a nice compromise. Oh and 10.5% abv doesn't hurt either.

Sam Adams Mighty oak

This beer was drinkable, but somewhat unremarkable.  There were hints of vanilla which added some interest, but not enough for me to ever really pick it up again unless it's for a "people pleaser" event.

Samuel Adams Holiday Porter

Redstone Meadery Nectar of the Hops

This is technically a mead, not a beer.  However, it's a hopped mead, so why not review it?

I don't generally like meads.  There is just something about them I can't handle.  This one was particularly bad.  I couldn't even finish my glass.

The husband, on the other hand, loved this and drank most of it on his own since I refused to finish it.

Avery White Rascal

This is a great demonstration of what I wish more witbiers tasted like.  I have tried a number of them and I don't generally like this one.  Without being insulting, this is a much better version of a Hoegaarden.  It's complex but does well within the style.

Avery Anniversary Eighteen

Oh my goodness, this beer is delicious.  Avery has really outdone themselves on this anniversary beer.  This beer alone makes me want to take a trip to Boulder and visit the brewery.  If you see one of these, definitely pick it up.  All that and I'm not even a fan of saisons.

Lucky Beer

I bought this beer for the bottle.  I'm quite certain that is why most people buy this beer.  It is definitely one that if you buy once and drink you'll probably never buy again.  Shame the bottle is way better than the beer.

Dogfish Head Faithfull Ale

I had heard this was a terrible beer, but was determined to try and judge for myself.  For once, I really wish I had listened to other people and saved myself the money.  The beer itself was so boring.

Compared to other beers from DFH, this may have been the worst thing they've ever produced.  Bitches Brew (based off the Miles Davis album) was amazing and mind blowing and was like music in my mouth.  Pearl Jam's beer was the most boring thing ever.

The only reason you should buy this beer is if you are the biggest Pearl Jam lover or if you are faithful to DFH and want to try it.

Dogfish Head Fort

Holy ABV (18%)!  This tastes kind of like raspberry alcohol, but in a good way.  It was sweet and delicious and got me a bit drunk unintentionally.  This is an overall impressive beer.

DFH suggests cellaring one of these, and I can only imagine how much more awesome that would be...I don't think there are a lot of fruit beers that would handle that.

Dogfish Head Chateau Jiahu

This is one of the "Ancient Ales" from DFH.  It is a pretty solid beer, considering that the recipe is from China so long ago.  With honey and grapes I was afraid it would be too sweet, but it was a good blend.

Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA

I have no clue where the picture of this beer is.

This beer has citrus notes and is just a good amount of hoppy.  If you're first taking a sip of a 90 Minute, it's great and hoppy.  However, if you're drinking it with other hoppy beers then it just blends in nicely.  Overall, this is a solid IPA to drink.

Dogfish Head Sah'tea

This beer made us fall asleep last time we drank it.  Luckily this time we drank it early on in the night so we didn't magically fall asleep this time.  I can taste the chai and enjoy it more in beer than in tea.  Juniper berries are one of those things I have no clue if I like the flavor anywhere but in beer, but they are yummy.  Overall, this is an interesting beer.

Dogfish Head Tweason'Ale

Strawberries. Not my favorite beer. Quite fruity. Tastes like their lipgloss.

My husband says he'd like to drink this at a little girls birthday party.

I love Dogfish Head, I really do.  However, this may be one of my least favorite beers that they brew.  It smells heavily of strawberries and tastes pretty fruity as well.  DFH makes lip gloss out of this and I much prefer it in that form.

My husband's comment was that he'd prefer to drink this at a little girls birthday party.

This beer is gluten-free...maybe that's the problem.

Dogfish Head Aprihop

Once again, these were a bit aged.  They're not nearly as good as when they are fresh.  Then again, I think this years batch was better than previous years.  It left very nice lacing on the glass as we drank them.
