Black Boss Porter 9.4%

Ugh I don't know why I keep trying Baltic porters. They're not my fave.

I picked this beer up thinking a Porter from Poland would be amusing.  Turns out, it was a pretty good beer. It was a bit more bitter than I'd like, but I'd definitely try another beer from Poland after this one!

Mendocino Seasonal Oatmeal Stout

So I picked this up at my local bottle shop expecting it to be nothing remarkable and something easy to drink on a night where I was expecting to have a couple of beers.  Turns out it was surprisingly delicious, while still being easy to drink.  It packed a lot more flavor than I expected and was a great beer.

Samuel Adams Dark Depths

Baltic IPAs/Black IPAs really seem to be all over the place anymore.  Some are great, some are terrible.  This one was one of the better ones I've had.  It was on the malty side and it was easy to drink.  If you're looking for a good BIPA to try, give this one a go.

Samuel Adams Third Voyage Double IPA

This was a nice double IPA.  It was good, but without being overpowering at all.  It's a easy to drink beer for sure.

Samuel Adams Latitude 48 IPA

This was one of the least hoppy beers in the Hopology series.  It was ok, but nothing special.  This is good for a beginner IPA drinker.  If you're a hop lover, skip it.

Samuel Adams Grumpy Monk

This Belgian IPA was easy to drink and a non-offensive IPA.  It was a good easy to drink Belgian IPA.  We got this as part of the Hopology box from Sam Adams.  Pretty much it was similar to every other beer in the box - a decent example of the type of IPA, but tasting slightly manufactured and nothing to blow your mind.  Still, it's a good box to buy if you're looking to sample some IPAs.

St. Bernardus Abt 12

Delicious. With thight ratings.

This was one of the best quads we've ever had.  It was smooth and balanced.  It was more drinkable than a lot of the other quads out there.

Sierra Nevada Ovila Quad with Plums

This beer was delicious.  I'm not a giant quad lover, but this one was definitely tops.  The beer smelled of plums and sweet, but not over the top.  It drank quite smoothly and there were layers of flavor.  One of my favorite beers I've had recently.
