21st Amendment Monks Blood

I have had Monk's Blood many a times before.  In fact, this may not be my first time reviewing this beer.  I'm reviewing again since the batch I had this spring was not as crazy banana flavored as before.  I had Monk's Blood once and loved it, then the next time it tasted like nothing but bananas, and this time it wasn't so bad.   The beer now indicates it's brewed at Cold Springs, which makes a whole different world of beer.  Maybe that is why Monk's Blood no longer tastes like bananas in a can.  Either way, if you like Belgian Strong Ales and don't mind banana this one is for you.  If you don't like bananas, stay away.

Samuel Adams Alpine Spring

Sam Adams is just not on the top of my list of favorite beers.  I think I've said it before, but I'm saying it again.  All of their beers are easily drinkable, but none of them really impress me.  Well at least not their 6/12 pack beers impress me.  This beer was easy to drink and I could see it being great on a Saturday afternoon BBQ, but not something to impress people.  If you're looking for an okay lager to take to appease the masses, this is a good one.

Peak Organic The Maple Collaboration

I don't know why the pictures are so terrible sometimes.  They are always taken with the same cameras.  Anyway, this beer was okay.  Since it was the maple collaboration, I expected a lot of maple taste.  I was a bit disappointed.  The beer was acceptable, but not filled with maple and sweetness like I was expecting.  I'd really like to see a good maple porter or stout.  In my head, that would be better.

Woodchuck Granny Smith Cider

As you can tell from the picture, this cider looks more like a light juice or a champagne.  Actually, it kind of tasted like champagne.  The flavors were very light and the apple was not very strong.  The smell was sweet, but not quite matched by the flavors.

La Bière du Boucanier Red Ale

This one was okay.  We bought a combo pack with a few of the "pirate beers" and overall, I don't think it was worth what I paid.  It was easy to drink and not terrible, but nothing I'd really ever go looking for.
