Tommyknocker Small Patch Pumpkin Harvest Ale

This one was not overly pumpkin in flavor or too heavy on the spices. It was okay and easy to drink.

Thirsty Dog Barktoberfest

I really didn't enjoy this beer. Maybe I was confused and it was intended to be served to dogs? Okay, probably not, but still not my favorite.

Founders Rübæus

The raspberry flavors where quite plentiful in the beer and it was fruity, it wasn't like a typical beer at all. More like drinking fizzy raspberries with a hint of beer.

Evil Twin Even More Jesus

Who doesn't need more Jesus in their lives? Okay, maybe you don't, but you need more of this beer in your life. For a 12% ABV it is an easy one to drink. It is heavy, but delicious. This one was very similar to Evil Twin's I Love You With My Stout, but with a bit less of a bite.

Evil Twin Molotov Cocktail

I don't think I've had a beer that I didn't like from Evil Twin. There beers tend to be a bit pricier, but I think they're worth every penny. This Imperial IPA is amazing and has such complex flavors. It's worth the purchase, but I suggest getting a 4 pack, since once you have one you'll want another.

Samuel Adams Hazel Brown

I don't like hazelnuts very much, so as a consequence, I don't like this beer that much. The nuts had a prominent flavor and it was too much for me.

Sand Creek Oscar’s Chocolate Oatmeal Stout

This chocolate oatmeal stout was delicious. I loved the chocolate flavor, which I found to be notable in the beer. Actually, in writing this blog post, I think I need to look for this one again soon!

Long Trail Harvest Ale

This beer calls itself a barn ale, but others classify it as brown ale. It doesn't really fit into any category as far as I'm concerned. It's okay and something I am pleased I tried, but I wouldn't want to drink more than one.

Sierra Nevada Beer Camp #94 Belgian Black IPA

Normally black IPAs are not my thing, but this one wasn't too shabby. It had a really nice hop flavor and delicious taste to it. I would drink it again for sure.

Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin

The Smashed Pumpkin was just okay. It had a decent pumpkin flavor, but I don't think it was worth the cost of the bottle.

Sam Adams Ruby Mild

This beer surprisingly had a lot of hop notes you could smell. It was darker than your normal lager and was an easy drink on a fall evening.

Central Waters Octoberfest Lager

This lager was easy to drink, but underwhelming. It may be my opinion of lagers - it takes a whole lot to impress me within the style. If you're a fan of the style, this one would be good. Oh, and it had a cool top.

Adirondack Café Vero Stout

If you don't know by now, I'm a sucker for stouts, especially coffee stouts. I liked this one and would have ordered a bigger glass if I could have.

Adirondack English Strong Ale

This beer was malty and not my favorite.

Adirondack Beaver Tail Brown Ale

This brown was easy to drink. It had a nice, nutty flavor. I would have enjoyed a pint of this, rather than just the little sampler.

Adirondack Ophelia

I believe this beer was classified as a sour ale. If not, it should have been. It was easy to drink and would be a nice "introduction" to sour beers for someone unfamiliar with the style. There was a nice apple flavor to it and much lighter than expected. I'd definitely drink it again.

Adirondack Raspberry Watermelon

If you like fruit beers, you'd love this one. The raspberry and watermelon paired well together and overall it was a pretty good beer. I don't think I'd drink it regularly, but it was definitely a nice treat on a warm summer afternoon.

Adirondack Maibock

This seems like it was a rare beer for them to brew, but it was quite tasty. We had pretzels as snacks and it paired well with the saltiness.  I'd drink it again.

Adirondack Bear Naked Ale

This is, once again, not a style I love. I don't think I'd drink it all the time. Just not my favorite overall.

Adirondack Dirty Blonde

This was a cloudy wheat. It was easy to drink, but underwhelming overall.

Adirondack Bobcat Blonde Lager

I'm not a fan of lagers, especially the light ones. At 3.8% ABV, it would be a good sessionable summer beer, but I don't think I'd drink it typically.

Pub Review: Adirondack Pub and Brewery

On a random day we ended up at the Adirondack Brewery up in Lake George, New York. We had tried several beers of theirs before, as they are quite plentiful in the grocery stores around here. From the bottle, we were typically underwhelmed by their beers, but still decided to give them a try. We ended up with a sampler each. They force you to go with 3 of their main beers and you get to pick the next 3. The beers were definitely better on tap than they are when you get them in the bottle.

We sat the bar on a busy, pre-summer, Saturday afternoon. Our bartender was pretty great and we had some snacks that were tasty. Overall, we had a pretty good experience and enjoyed ourselves. I'd come again if I was in the area, but I don't think I'd make a special trip.
