Ninkasi Lady of Avalon

We had this on tap at Pine Box.  It was "randalized."  The hubby ordered it solely because of the randal.  It was surprisingly good.  It was overpoweringly hoppy, but not in a bad way.  The smell was great.  Being the first time I've ever had something on a randal it was hard to tell what was from that and what was from the beer, but I enjoyed it greatly!

Ninkasi Total Domination IPA

This was a hoppy little beer.  It was the best out of our little Ninkasi pack we bought.  This is a good standby IPA.  Woot, I like this one!

Ninkasi Nuptiale Cream Ale

This beer was boring.  I feel like that may be a trend with how I feel toward the Ninkasi brews.  Go figure.  It was hard to drink due to how light it was.  Letting it warm up definitely did not help.  Let's leave it as I did not love this beer.

Ninkasi Radiant Summer Ale

This beer is summery.  I guess that's why it's a summer release.  It's not a favorite and I think it's quite generic tasting.  I'd skip this one.

Ninkasi Maiden the Shade

This beer does not go well with pickles...then again what beer does?

It was ok.  I am not a fan of the prominent strain of hops in this IPA.  It just isn't among my choices of IPAs. On the other hand, the husband likes it and thinks it's a drinkable IPA.  I think you should pick one up, give it a try, and decide for yourself.

Alchemist/Ninkasi/Stone More Brown Than Black IPA

Not a fav beer over all. One of the better bipas though.

This was not one of our favorite beers of all time.  However, this may have been the first black IPA that we didn't contemplate immediately pouring out.  I feel like that's a big endorsement for not liking this style at all.

Ninkasi Imperiale Stout

My first impression of this beer was "yummy."  I like the label.  The geometric prints make me happy and I feel like it stands out on the shelf.  That's a big thing for me.  If your bottle blends in, I'm not going to notice it or think to pick it up.  I also really like beers that tell me what kind they are on the label.  Bonus points for the fact this is a stout being clearly labeled.

Random life note:  While getting this beer out of the fridge, I discovered the freezer wasn't as cold as it should be.  I *hate* that.

While actually drinking this beer, and not staring at the label or swearing at my freezer, I found it to be a bitter at times.  In the end, I would definitely drink this again.  I don't know if I'd go on a hunting expedition for it, but I would definitely drink it whenever offered to me.  And the ABV was high (about 9.1%) which is nice.  Who doesn't love a beer with high ABV?  Really by the end of the bottle, it seems like the beer was that much better.
