Elysian 12 Beers of the Apocalypse #2 - Rapture Heather Ale

Not as offensive as I thought it would be for the heather flavor.  It had a slight after taste, but not much in the head or the actual sip.  It was ok, but not killer.

Widmer Brother Marionberry Hibiscus Gose

This was my first time trying a Gose, so it's hard to compare within the style.  I didn't taste the saltiness and it was not as tart as I expected for the style.  I could definitely taste the marionberry and hibiscus.  It poured bright pink (much more than the picture looks).  It was ok, but I don't think I'd pick it up again.

Alba Scots Pine Ale

Sweet with interesting flavors. Lots of berry flavors at first before it gets more mild.  It was was so confusing trying to figure out the flavors.  Pick one up and then tell me what YOU think it tasted like.

Fraoch Heather Ale

I think it's a bit lackluster. When I burped it tasted more like heather than when I was drinking it.

The hubby thinks it has a character but can't place it exactly.

Dogfish Head Ta Henket

So this is what the pyramids were built for. This is an interesting beer for sure. The chamomile is definitely a taste coming out.

Husband says it tastes like honey and hay. Once he said that, I could taste it too.

Dogfish Head Chateau Jiahu

This is one of the "Ancient Ales" from DFH.  It is a pretty solid beer, considering that the recipe is from China so long ago.  With honey and grapes I was afraid it would be too sweet, but it was a good blend.

Dogfish Head Sah'tea

This beer made us fall asleep last time we drank it.  Luckily this time we drank it early on in the night so we didn't magically fall asleep this time.  I can taste the chai and enjoy it more in beer than in tea.  Juniper berries are one of those things I have no clue if I like the flavor anywhere but in beer, but they are yummy.  Overall, this is an interesting beer.
