Southern Tier Plum Noir

First, I love the new Southern Tier designs.  I like the labels and always enjoy their beers.  This one was tasty, but a bit sweet.  The plum flavors were delightful.  Definitely one to pick up if you see it.

Southern Tier Imperial Compass

This beer was quite active - I know you can see those floaty bits in the beer.  They were suspended and didn't fall all to the bottom, even while drinking.  Overall, this beer was very good and easy to drink.  It has an ABV of about 9% but doesn't drink like it.  This is one you should pick up when you come across it.

Southern Tier 2XMAS

I generally don't like winter beers, mostly because they're winter warmers.  I got excited by this beer because it's inspired by Glogg.  If you've never had glogg, you should try it.  It's delicious.  Anyway, this beer was like holiday in a glass.  It was spicy and full of cheer.  It's got a lot of umph for a holiday beer.  I'd say this was one to pick up and try for yourself...and maybe bring it to your next holiday party!

Southern Tier Pumking

I had this on tap at the Bier Abbey in Schenectady, NY and I've had it in the bottle this year.  Clearly, the beer on tap is pictured.  It's good, but not nearly as strong and delicious as last year's batch.  I'm beginning to think the pumpkin crop this year wasn't so great as a lot of the pumpkin beers have been a bit disappointing.

Southern Tier Creme Brulee Stout

OMG.  This is amazing.  I can't even really begin to describe how great this is.  It's sweet and dark and just overall wonderful.  It smells like mocha but finishes in a whole different delicious way.  I could seriously go for a real creme brulee after drinking this.  I suggest you really pick one of these up if you see it.  It's amazing and could be a dessert all on it's own.

Southern Tier Oak Aged Back Burner

Barley wines are not my favorite style.  I generally take a sip and give them to the husband to finish.  I liked this one though.  The oak aged was a nice touch and I would like to try the regular one to to compare.  Overall, a good choice for a barley wine kind of night.

Southern Tier Mokah

Sssoooo delicious. Chocolate coats your mouth but you get hints of coffee. You can smell the chocolate. I looove this.

Southern Tier Jah-va Imperial Coffee Stout

This was not what I expected.  I anticipated the coffee flavor to be much stronger than it was.  There was something a bit off about this.  Maybe an off batch or bad bottle?

Southern Tier 2x Stout

This beer was 2x as good as others and twice as good as I expected.

Southern Tier Harvest Ale

This smells like a barely wine, but tastes like an IPA.  It has some nice hopping.  Good beer!

Southern Tier Un*Earthly

I don't know what the "un" is about.  This is quite an earthy beer.  The floral notes stood out to me.

Will says this is one of his favorite IPAs, but that it tasted a bit different aged.

Southern Tier Pumking

Pumking may be one of my favorite pumpkin beers. I highly suggest you get one when you see them again next year.  They come out in August so be on the look out!

Beer Advocate thinks this is exceptional.
Here's what Southern Tier has to say.
