PUB REVIEW: Oskar Blues Home Made Liquids & Solids

On our little tour of Colorado, we stopped into Oskar Blue's restaurant.  It was lunch time and the place was still busy.  We were seated fairly quickly, but the restaurant was kind of loud.  Also, there was a lot of stuff going on.  The walls were filled with decorations.

The beers were delicious, as to be expected.  The husband went with a burrito drowned in gumbo.  It was delicious.

I had the Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich.  I wasn't a big fan of the jalepeno jam and the peanut slaw combination.  Really, one or the other would have been ok, but both made it a bit too much.

Overall, I'd stop in here for a few drinks and maybe some snacks, but I don't know if I'd make a full meal out of it again - unless I could eat the burrito.

PUB REVIEW: Home Made Liquids & Solids (Oskar Blues)

The husband and I made it a point to stop here on our way into Denver.  We're both big Oskar Blues fans and thought it would be a great place to grab lunch.  They have a small assortment of merchandise up front and a large tap selection of their own beers to choose from.  

Our waitress seemed pretty busy.  She was still attentive and brought everything out as quickly as she could, but it just wasn't top notch service - not bad, just not impressive.

The husband went with the Ricky Bobby Burrito.  He went with with smothered option and it was delicious.  It had a small salad on the side which was pretty standard, but the burrito was so amazing you didn't even need bother with the greens.  I had the Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich.  It had a jalapeno sauce and lots of other spices.  It was spicy, which I like, but it almost had too much going on.  It was good, I think my taste buds were just a bit overwhelmed. 

The restaurant had a cool atmosphere and it seemed like there were lots of live music nights and such that occur here.  It's definitely a place to try, whether or not you're an Oskar Blues fan.

Oskar Blues Dry Hopped Dale

This was on tap at OB's tap room.  It was a lager and not either of our favorites, but an interesting offering.

BREWERY REVIEW: Tasty Weasel Tap Room

Oskar Blues has several locations - this one is their brewery/tap room.  This brewery is puppy friendly.  A flight of  beers will run you about $9.  You can buy some merchandise here and it's different than what you'll find in the some of the other locations.  

They can here, so you can see their production line which is pretty neat.  Definitely a place to stop in if you're in the area.

Oskar Blues Homeskillet Black IPA

Good BIPA.  I'm not usually a dark IPA fan, but this one was good.  More IPA than black.  Give this one a try!

Oskar Blue Dave's Pale Ale

This was a great pale ale.  It was hoppy, but without all the ABV.  I liked it a lot and was lucky enough to have it on tap at the restaurant.  I can't find it on either their site or Rate Beer though, so good luck finding it.

This beer is like black gold.  I love it and can't get enough.  YUMMMMMM.

Oskar Blues Old Chub

Oh, Old Chub.  Yet another beer where I giggle when I say the name.  The beer itself is delicious.  Oskar Blues is another one of my go-to breweries.  This beer is smoky and delicious.  It's dark and heavy.  It's everything I want in a beer and even better, it comes in a can!  This is one of my breweries I'd like to go and try someday.  Really, if you like dark beers, or you don't, you should give Old Chub a try.  Or any other brew by Oskar Blues.  Promise you won't be disappointed!
